Housing association meetings

Félagsbústaðir generally do not send a representative to house meetings except in cases where the company owns many apartments or where large and costly projects are pending approval. Félagsbústaðir in most cases follow the majority of votes cast on decisions taken at house meetings. In general, Félagsbústaðir are in favor of all necessary maintenance and we encourage all preventive maintenance.

We draw attention to the fact that our tenants are allowed to attend house meetings. Tenants have freedom of speech there, but do not have the right to vote, unless there is a mandate from us, and then the mandate specifies which elements or meetings it covers. We encourage housing associations to invite tenants to house meetings and encourage them to participate in the community of the stairwell or building. We also encourage housing associations to invite tenants to Facebook groups or other electronic communities.
